#TechTurnsOut -- will you join us?

Tech:NYC is voting a voter registration and engagement effort called #TechTurnsOut

Dear Tech:NYC Members and Friends,

We’re excited to announce #TechTurnsOut, a Tech:NYC initiative to help increase voter registration and turnout in the upcoming election. We’re asking you — NYC’s tech industry — to help us demonstrate that the tech industry will turn out at election time.

Currently, New York’s voter registration percentage is among the worst in the country and we don’t do much better when it comes to turnout. Given the reach of Tech:NYC’s member companies, we know we can change those numbers here in New York and also throughout the country.

Will you join us? We’ll provide your company with a variety of options to get involved and ensure your employees, customers, and users are registered to vote. We’ll provide you with branded digital creative to help spread the word and show that you are part of the coalition of New York tech companies working to increase voter participation.

You can start by filling out this short form to let us know you’d like to get involved. No time for forms? No problem. Just send an email to [email protected] and tell us that you’re intereted and let us know the best contact at your company to follow up with.

Some of the programs we’re already working with include National Voter Registration Day, #TakeOffElectionDay, Headcount, TurboVote, HelloVote, and others. We’ll provide you with more information on all of these options in the coming weeks and months.

Here’s the thing. Voting is important. Really important. You probably know that already, but way too many Americans don’t do it. By just doing a small amount — joining ongoing efforts and implementing tools that have already been developed — our community can do what it does best: use technology and networks to fix problems. We hope you’ll join us.-The Tech:NYC Team
