Today, we have an exciting announcement to share: Tech:NYC has expanded its Board to 60 members, including many who founded startups in NYC, to help guide the organization and the broader tech community through a crucial next phase of growth. 

About the announcement, Mayor Eric Adams said today, “New York City’s vibrant tech landscape continues to power our city’s economic recovery, helping to foster a culture of innovation in both the public and private sectors.”

  • “I have been proud to work hand-in-hand with leaders young and old, established and emerging, to expand opportunity, promote broad-based prosperity, and build out a pipeline to local talent. This expanded board represents a cross-section of this diverse and burgeoning industry,” Mayor Adams continued.

A few details: Industry leaders already active on Tech:NYC’s Board and Leadership Council will transition to the new Board, along with 30 new members, which include:

  • Adobe chief strategy officer Scott Belsky, Airbnb global head of policy & communications Jay Carney, Yahoo chief strategy officer Lara Davis, IBM senior vice president & director of research Darío Gil, Meta head of product Naomi Gleit, Ramp co-founder and CEO Eric Glyman, Spotify chief public affairs officer Dustee Jenkins, Index Ventures partner Martin Mignot, Etsy chief operating officer Raina Moskowitz, Revel co-founder & CEO Frank Reig, Thrive Capital partner Kelly Sims, and Harlem Capital co-founder & managing partner Jarrid Tingle.

  • Fred Wilson, Co-founder and Partner of Union Square Ventures, will remain Chairman of the Board, and Eli Polanco (Founder & CEO, Nivelo), Kevin Ryan (Founder & CEO, AlleyCorp), Julie Samuels (President & Executive Director, Tech:NYC), and Reshma Saujani (Founder, Moms First and Girls Who Code), will serve as the Board’s Executive Committee.

  • Co:Helm, a NYC-based health tech administration automation startup, raised $3.2 million in seed funding. Sequoia Capital led the round and was joined by Blue Lion Global, Nebular, Ventures Together, Four Acres, and Anamcara.

  • Hadrius, a NYC-based SEC compliance automation startup, raised $2 million in seed funding. Participating investors include YC, Lynett Capital, Singularity Capital, Dorm Room Fund, and Unpopular Ventures.
