Best Place for AI Jobs (New Report Says) Won’t Surprise You (New York Times

  • Ok, so the headline is referring to the Bay Area, but it's worth noting that New York ranked third in generative AI job postings behind San Francisco and San Jose. And as Tech:NYC president Julie Samuels tells the Times: “Every major financial, media, advertising and consulting company is immersed in figuring out how they are going to adapt to and use generative AI.” The center of those legacy industries call New York home, which means AI jobs in New York are primed to keep on going up.

NYC unveils news rules for unmanned aircraft amid growing use of technology (ABC New York

  • Tech:NYC joined Mayor Adams at the Manhattan Bridge this morning to unveil new rules that make it easier for the city to take advantage of drone technologies. The rules are a follow-up to the summit we hosted in May, where the benefits of using drones were immediately apparent: They offer safer, more accurate solutions to inspect buildings and bridges and monitor the impacts of climate change, for example. The future use cases for dense, urban environments like NYC are endless, and we’re excited to see these rules implemented.

Why Anthony Casalena says Squarespace is ready for the next era of the web (The Verge

  • The founder and CEO has been building on the web for a long time — Squarespace celebrated its 20th anniversary earlier this year, with its latest milestone coming last month in the acquisition of Google’s domain registration business. As Casalena takes his company into the next decade, he’s thinking a lot about — you guessed it — AI.

This AI Chatbot Has Helped Doctors Treat 3 Million People — And May Be Coming To A Hospital Near You (Forbes)

  • NYC-based digital health startup K Health is trying to offer an alternative to Dr. Google, as co-founder and CEO Allon Bloch told Forbes. K Health's AI-powered chatbot sifts through the data of millions of patients and suggests a medical condition based on how you compare to other people like you — and now the company is expanding with hospital partnerships. With NYC’s strong network of major healthcare institutions, it’s no surprise Bloch'c company is taking off here.

The Gesture That Encapsulates Remote-Work Life (The Atlantic)

  • It’s awkward, corny, and vital. Ok, bye! 👋
