Happy “Black Friday in July”! We’re coming to you from the Tech:NYC Founder House, which opened today to 25 early-stage founders in our network. Here’s a peek at what we’ve been up to, threaded.

Today, a quick job market check-in: While tech-related unemployment edged up slightly last month, demand remains strong for many roles— especially anything artificial intelligence-related.
Tech sector unemployment reached 2.3% in June compared to the national figure of 3.6%, according to the latest jobs report from the Computer Technology Industry Association (CompTIA).
Unsurprisingly, AI is on the rise. The 21,000 AI-related job postings that CompTIA tracked is a new high, representing 10% of all tech listings.
Software developer roles were most common among the job postings CompTIA tallied, with 65,000 postings last month. After that, there were about 42,000 listings for IT project managers, data analysts and related occupations.
Our thought bubble: We've detailed in this digest how New York is right in the middle of the AI boom, so the city is well positioned to be a national driver of AI jobs growth. Our very own jobs board, stacked with openings at more than 700 Tech:NYC member companies, is another good indicator: It now has more than 5,000 active listings, a new high since it launched almost four months ago.
