Money flows into fertility technology (Axios)

  • More than $800 million in venture capital went to fertility-focused startups in 2022, and that number multiplies several times over for the women’s and family health space more broadly. NYC has surfaced as a global hub for the sector, and Mayor Eric Adams is launching a citywide women’s health agenda that (rightfully) takes advantage of all of this activity to the benefit of all New Yorkers. 

‘Recession Resilient’ Climate Startups Shine in Tech Downturn (New York Times)

  • We’re glad to see the swell of climate tech resonating across cities nationwide, and NYC is no exception. Union Square Ventures’ recently-announced $200 million climate fund, major growth plans from Brooklyn-based startups Revel and BlocPower, and decarbonization efforts like Local Law 97 all back up our prediction that the sector will be a major boon in 2023.
