Team Tech:NYC here! We hope your Q1 is off to a productive start. Some news on our end: We’re excited to welcome our founding executive director Julie Samuels back to Tech:NYC as we embark on our next chapter of growth. Julie started the organization in 2016 with five founding member companies and, in our first five years, grew it to more than 800 companies. If you haven’t yet met her, we’re excited to introduce you very soon!We recently gathered a group of investors and BIPOC founders to kickstart a new effort to provide deeper pools or support for underrepresented founders in New York. It was the first in a recurring series of events we’re putting together, in partnership with Google for Startups, to convene this cohort not just during Black History Month, but year-round.To that end, if you’re a NYC founder of color and/or from other historically underrepresented backgrounds: we want to hear from you! Is there programming you wish you had more access to this year? Let us know — your feedback will come just in time for our Q2 planning.Lastly, we hope to see you at our next Startup Coffee on Feb. 21 — it’s always a casual, but useful way to meet other startup founders in our network. Register here.
