The Latest from Tech:NYC

Greetings from Tech:NYC!
The NYC tech community has never been stronger than it is now. Every day, we’re hearing about new companies, new funding rounds, new city and state initiatives focused on tech, and lots of potential exits. We’re excited about the continued growth in this community, and we hope to see you around soon.
What We’re Up To
Last night, we met with dozens of members of the NYC tech community at Warby Parker for City Council 101 with Councilman Mark Levine and Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer. The biggest takeaway from the evening was that tech needs to get more involved at the local level by engaging with City Council members directly and joining community boards for our voices to be heard. If just 50 committed people organize around an issue, serious change can happen.Last week, we launched our first-ever Annual Report, which recounts all the progress Tech:NYC has made in just one year. Also be sure to read about our first year in TechCrunch and on our blog.
We also recently met with leaders in the NYC tech community to discuss the current state of net neutrality. Learn more about where things stand in our latest policy brief and learn how you can take action.
