You made it! There are just a few more hours between you and Memorial Day weekend, and we certainly don’t want to stand in the way. So we’ll keep today’s dispatch short:

  • A lightning round of new updates:

    • NY Forward Loan Fund: New York is making $100 million available to small businesses, with a focus on MWBEs and those with 20 or fewer employees that didn’t receive federal PPP loans. (NYS)

    • Splash is WFH through Labor Day, Spotify announced its employees can WFH until 2021, and Shopify is allowing permanent WFH for its employees. See details for these (and more updates) in the return-to-office section of our resource guide.

    • It’s going to be an unusually active hurricane season, because why not. (Washington Post

  • ICYMI: as we move into the summer season, we’ve been including roundups of predictions on all the ways you can expect life in NYC to be different. They might be useful for informing your weekend plans too. Revisit them here: beaches, restaurants, sports, transit.

  • If you’re planning to head to the beach this weekend, double-check it’ll be accessible. Some are closed and some just outside the city are local resident-only, but there are still several good options

  • One last thing: if you haven’t already, be sure to add us ([email protected]) to the contacts in your inbox so future digests don’t get lost.

Enjoy the long weekend! We’ll see you on Tuesday.
