During this fireside chat, Councilman Levine, who represents NYC's 7th District in Northern Manhattan, will provide an overview City Council, how it works, what his office is working on, and how New Yorkers can engage the council on neighborhood and policy issues
About Councilman Mark Levine
New York City Councilmember Mark Levine represents the 7th District in Northern Manhattan. Serving as the Chair of Council Committee on Parks and Recreation and as a member of the Progressive Caucus, he is a leader on many issues including housing, education, economic justice, transportation, environmentalism, and more.
Councilmember Levine has been a strong advocate for addressing inequality in New York City. As Parks Chair he has successfully pushed for greater equity for parks in New York’s low- and moderate-income neighborhoods. He is also a leading voice on affordable housing issues, including the fight to get legal representation for all tenants in housing court.
Through its 101 series, Tech:NYC exposes the NYC tech community to local policymakers, institutions, and opportunities.
