NYC 2021 elections: Helping your teams make a plan to vote

NYC’s primary for Mayor (as well as for Comptroller, Borough Presidents, City Council, and more) is next Tuesday, June 22nd. With early voting already underway, we at Tech:NYC wanted to share the below resources, which include everything from candidate guides to ranked choice voting information. We encourage you to forward the below note to your NYC-based team members, and encourage them all to vote in what is shaping up to be one of the most consequential local elections in decades.

THREE WAYS TO VOTEAbsentee ballot:

  • Today is the deadline to request an absentee ballot if you’d like to submit your ballot by mail. Any New York voters are eligible to receive an absentee ballot by claiming “temporary illness” due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Request your ballot online here.

  • You can also download and fill out the request form here and email it to the Board of Elections here, print and mail it, or drop it off at your borough’s Board of Elections office.

  • Completed ballots must be mailed and postmarked by June 21, or it can be dropped off at any poll site up until polls close on June 22. 

  • Once you’ve mailed your ballot, you can track it here.

Early voting:

  • Early voting sites are open now through Sunday, June 20. Your assigned site may be different from your normal voting site. Confirm your location and hours here, and also get a preview of your ballot.

  • Use this map tool to check the real-time wait times at each voting site before your plan to go.

Election Day:

  • On June 22, polls will be open from 6am to 9pm. Confirm your poll site and preview your ballot here.
